  • About Jessa Dillow Crisp, MA, LPC, NCC

Do you feel like past trauma, negative experiences, and anxiety rule your life? Or maybe you see other people who have gone through hard things and are still able to experience joy, leading you to feel hopeless in your chasm of pain. It’s okay to take steps towards your journey of discovering what healing might look like for you and the person you are becoming.

I see counseling as a compassionate and collaborative process where we walk through the hard things together—which means that you no longer need to face these struggles alone. Through the right approach, you too can experience joy, clarity, and freedom to live the life you have always wanted.

I hold my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am finishing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. Using attachment theory as the foundation of my therapeutic approach, I have been trained in Theraplay, Brainspotting, and EMDR and have had extensive experience working with veterans, active-duty service members, former foster youth, survivors of trafficking and torture, as well as individuals who’ve experienced complex trauma.

Some highlights of my career include training the Department of Homeland Security on issues related to anti-trafficking efforts, training the Department of State on trauma-informed care, being published in the Department of States 2021 TIP Report and 2022 TIP Report, and speaking at the National Character Leadership Symposium for the Air Force.

With each client I work with, I believe healing and connection are possible through the development of resilience and post-traumatic growth. I believe that no matter what you have experienced, it is possible to heal and move into a place of thriving. Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings, internal beliefs, and experiences that make it hard for you to function and seek out new ways of coping and living beyond your past!

My specialties include working with Neurodiversity, Trauma and PTSD, Attachment, Anxiety, Depression, and Grief.

For fun, I enjoy hiking Colorado’s mountains with my husband, playing with my kitten, doing puzzles, and connecting with people over freshly brewed coffee.
