At Emerge Counseling Center, we know choosing to start counseling is an important investment of your time, money, and energy. The information below helps answer many of the big questions you may have regarding rates and insurance. If you have more specific questions, please contact us.

    How much will therapy cost?

Rates for private pay, or self-pay, clients will vary between $75-$225/ clinical hour session depending on which therapist you’re meeting with and length of session.

See the chart below for specific levels of pricing.

    Do you accept my insurance?

Emerge Counseling Center is now an in-network mental health provider for Health First Colorado Medicaid for individuals with Colorado Access and Colorado Community Health Alliance (CCHA) Medicaid plans.

At this time, we unfortunately are not in-network with any other insurance providers.

But can I get reimbursed through my insurance provider?

For insurance providers that allow reimbursement for receiving services from out-of-network providers, we can send you a superbill (itemized bill) through your client portal that you personally submit to your insurance for reimbursement. You are responsible for paying for counseling services the day services are rendered and then seeking reimbursement independently after paying out-of-pocket.  Emerge Counseling Center does not contact your insurance provider directly regarding superbills or reimbursement.

We cannot guarantee services provided by interns will be reimbursed by your insurance provider. Check with your insurance regarding coverage and reimbursement policy for pre-licensed clinicians.

What else do I need to know before seeking reimbursement from insurance?

It is important to us that you, as the client, are fully informed before making decisions about whether or not to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider.

In order to pay for care, insurance providers want to know if the service provided is medically necessary. This requires your clinician to determine if you meet the diagnostic criteria for a psychiatric disorder as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), and that the disorder significantly impacts your functioning. Not all areas of struggle that bring clients into counseling will meet the diagnostic criteria for a disorder.

If you do choose to seek reimbursement and a diagnosis is therapeutically appropriate, please note this information will be on your permanent medical records. Our clinicians are happy to address any questions or concerns you have on this matter and guide you through deciding the best course of action in paying for your care.

    Cost of Group Therapy

Group therapy can be a more affordable way to receive support when there are financial limitations. It can also be a way to enhance the benefits of individual therapy without too much additional cost. Rates will vary depending on the nature of the group. Please see the Groups page for more information about rates and current groups being offered at Emerge Counseling Center.

    Sliding Scale

Emerge Counseling Center recognizes financial challenges often prevent people from seeking the help they need. Therefore, we offer a sliding scale rate on a limited basis based on both a demonstrated need and clinician availability.

    Payment

I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment. I also accept payment directly on my site via this page.

    Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.

    Good Faith Estimate Notice

Private pay, or self-pay, and uninsured clients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining how much your care will cost. Please go HERE to read Right of Good Faith Estimate Notice. Your clinician will also provide you with a GFE in your intake paperwork.
